Welcome to the first stop aboard the Magical Blogorail Teal. Enjoy the ride as we take you on a tour of the wonderful world of Disney Weddings (etc.!)
Next month
my mother and father will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary...that's the Golden one! The entire family will participate in their personalized vow renewal ceremony,
followed by a dinner reception at a picturesque restaurant built on the site of
a historic mill, complete with a creaking water wheel.
I have to admit that all the excitement surrounding planning their ceremony and reception got me in a dreamy mood.
In two years my husband and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary
and – you guessed it – I would love to celebrate it at Walt Disney World!
Of course,
Disney has provided lots of magical material to feed such dreams. Soon I had
bookmarked the official website, Disney’s Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons. Then I became a regular reader of unofficial Magical Day Weddings Blog. I even purchased Passporter’s Disney Wedding &HoneymoonsGuidebook and subscribed to author Carrie Hayward’s Disney Wedding Podcast!
I could easily lose myself for an hour or more sighing over the gorgeous
pictures and hearing touching wedding stories from actual Disney brides. (I’m a
sucker for romantic stories) And yes, I
admit that I have even popped in and out of the Disney Wedding and Honeymoon
forum on DisBoards to read about the plans others were making!
Now before my
husband reads this and panics, let me assure you that I have yet to make any official
arrangements (read: put down a deposit on) a vow renewal package. Our daughter will be starting college in two
years as well, so at this point my vow renewal ceremony is still just another
Disney dream.
But since we’re
talking DREAMS ….
If I had to choose among the the dozens of options, I would love to have our ceremony
at the Italy Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase, followed by a sit-down
reception by the lagoon…

Of course, I’d
have to have a Disney cake…

Well,
perhaps not THAT Disney cake! But, hey, there are just too many gorgeous cakes
designs – you can’t expect me to choose just one. (Yet!)

Great post! A Disney wedding or vow renewal would definitely be a dream come true!
ReplyDeleteKathy, I do hope your dreams come true! How romantic to have a vow renewal in Epcot's Italy!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! I hope you get to do it!
ReplyDeleteWe wanted to have our wedding there but couldn't justify the $$$. I think a small vow renewal would be just right. ; )
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story. Sadly, my wife would kill me if I did a vow renewal in the Italian Pavilion...she wants Italy!
ReplyDeleteOh, ladies, we are DEFINITELY talking big dreams here... Disney Weddings, etc. are absolutely lovely but quite expensive! But as Cinderella said, "A dream is a wish your heart makes!"
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading!
The Memories package has an affordable wedding/vow renewal. I was married at the Polynesian on Luau Beach last November with just 4 of us there and it was actually affordable but allowed me my dream of marrying in Disney World. You even have Cinderella's Castle and Space Mountain in the background! :-)
