Last Fall I
had the lip-smacking good fortune to be in Walt Disney World over the opening
weekend of Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival.Because I was travelling solo that weekend I
was clapping my hands with glee at the prospect of meeting up with a friend and
doing the festival sans children!
It was 100
degrees in the shade but that could not dissuade us from our original dinner
plan – to visit a number of the food kiosks and “eat around the world!”
holds two of our favorite selections!
From Australia - Shrimp on the Barbie with
Pepper Berry Citrus Glaze: Sweet and juicy barbequed shrimp with just enough kick
to make you say, “Oooh!”
From Hawaii -Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and
Spicy Mayonnaise. This was so moist, it truly melted in my mouth. Sweet and tangy -- I could have made a
meal out of two or three of these babies and have been perfectly satisfied! Fortunately, my friend and I were sharing everything so we had room to continue on 'round the lagoon.
around the world was such a tasty treat. I’d love to plan a
weekend getaway with my husband during the Food & Wine Festival – no picky
eaters to pull us away from the booths and nary a chicken nugget in sight!
